Finding Baby Clothes for Sale

June 30th, 2008

Finding baby clothes for sale is much easier today then it was about forty years ago. For instance if you got pregnant back then and it was your first child you bought a certain amount of outfits and just washed them over and over again. If you were lucky the neighbor down the street had a child and brought all the clothes to you, washed or not. You gladly took them because you knew it was cheaper this way. You made sure you saved these clothes in case you were ever to have another.

Today, it doesn’t matter because you can find baby clothes for sale everywhere. You’ve got sales up and down the street on weekends. Sales at the store or the clearance racks to get cheaper outfits for your upcoming child. Or you can phone a friend, relative or anyone else you know and see if they have outfits they want to get rid of. You’ve got freecycle which is an online trading site where people want to get rid of their junk instead of putting it to the curb. Or you’ve got ebay and other online auction sites that sale baby clothes. The trick is finding the sales, but once you’ve found them you’ll be in hog heaven.

Decorating on a Shoestring Budget

June 29th, 2008

Right now one of the most popular shows on television is, Trading Spaces. If you havent gotten an opportunity to watch this show, the object of the game is to decorate one room in someone elses house with a budget of a $1,000. The decorators truly struggle to accomplish this so you know it is hard when even they, trained professionals, are having problems creating the room of the homeowners dreams.

Do not despair just because your money is limited- you can still create a warm and inviting home frugally. When people come into our home and see our front room (the only room we have decorated since we are relatively new homeowners) they always comment on how beautiful our drapes, furniture, and whole look of this room is. Do you think I disclose that we put the furniture together ourselves and that the whole d©cor came compliments of Target? No way! Never divulge the sordid details, just simply bask in the glory and let them try to recreate your look. Here are a few tips for creating an inviting home on a budget.

Watch television shows, read books, and look through magazines to gather inspiration for creating a stylish home. Although many of the things you look at are completely out of your budget, you can try to recreate it with lower costing materials and a little creativity. Some great looks can be found on www.potterybarn.com, www.pierone.com , www.ikea.com, and www.marthastewart.com.

Paint is the cheapest way to really change a room. One thing I have learned is to never be afraid of color- bright colors can really liven up a room. Be wary though with small rooms because this can make the rooms look smaller and closed off. In smaller rooms use softer and lighter colors- yellows, light green, lavenders, and white/off-white.

Getting your home organized will make your house look well-kept. To find out some great ways to get your home as well as yourself organized, go to www.organizedhome.com . This site is wonderful for learning how and what you need to do to clear out the rubbish in your home. With different styles of baskets to organize your items it not only makes the room look cleaner, but it also adds to the d©cor.

Target, Kmart, and Walmart all offer great items for your home at a much lower cost. Target has fantastic drapes, tableware, towels, pillows, and furniture for your home. Kmart offers incredible linens, drapes, and sheets from the Martha Stewart line. Walmart offers great fabrics for those do-it-yourself projects in making pillows, drapes, and linens.

To add pictures to your walls, look through old art books or photograph books. Buy a cheap frame to put it in and you will have beautiful artwork for a fraction of the cost.

Rearrange your furniture in your home. Try to find new ways to break up a room or to make the room more open and inviting.

Light a candle and put potpourri in a bowl. This really warms up a room, not to mention adding a beautiful smell to the air.

Find slipcovers for your couches. Doing this is a lot cheaper then buying a new sofa and when you get tired of it you can take the covers off. These are especially nice if you have little children because it is a great way to preserve the quality of your furniture. The slipcovers are easier to clean because you can throw them in the wash, unlike your couch. A couple of great places to look for nice slipcovers are www.kohls.com and www.surefit.com.

Want something in particular in your home, but cant afford it? Hit www.ebay.com and bid on it. Ebay always has great things for your house not to mention beautiful antiques and collectibles which make your home more unique.

Buy large pillows to use as extra seating. These are great for when you have a large group over and not enough seating. Dont invest in more seating; just buy big beautiful pillows for your guests to sit on.

Go to the garage sales, but go early. Those who wait do not get the deals that the early risers get. Dont underestimate the Salvation Army and Goodwill either because you can find some interesting and beautiful things for your house.

Learn one craft that will aid you in decorating your home. Several of the fabric and craft stores offer wonderful classes for learning crafts such as sewing and floral for a very low cost. By learning crafts you can make things yourself at a lower cost or you may be able to make money off of this to afford you more luxuries in your home- you just never know.

Hit your local Dollar Tree for some great buys on things to make your home more inviting. You might laugh at this one, but you would be surprised what ends up at that store. I have bought beautiful mugs, baskets, and stationary for a buck a piece and no one knows that I spent so little money. Try to think outside the box and go to the stores that are normally not known for quality houseware. This is where you get the real deals.

Purchase all different types of blankets and put them under your end tables or drape one on your sofa. They make your guests feel cozy and invited especially on those cold winter nights.

Put a book or two on your coffee table that can be a conversation piece, but don’t overdo it. People tend to get carried away with this and then you lose the beauty of the furniture underneath. One or two books are nice, but four or five looks like clutter.

If you buy the do-it-yourself furniture or have a piece that looks like it needs a face-lift try replacing the knobs on those cabinets and drawers. A beautiful brushed silver knob or ornate gold knob can make the item look entirely different.

Replace your old plastic curtain rods with sterling silver or gold rods. Target and Kmart have some really beautiful ones with different styles of ends (leaves, fruit, glass) that really add that special touch.

Try a theme room, but dont get carried away. Remember that whatever theme you chose you will have to live with it for a long time. Go for classic themes that seem to withstand the ages. If you choose to pick a theme for the room do hints of it throughout rooms, but dont make the entire room one big theme. Just give your guests hints of it.

I hope these tips will offer you some insight on decorating your own home. My advice to you is that you start small and with one room at a time. Do not get carried away with redoing your whole home or you will feel overwhelmed. Concentrate your efforts on one project until you are completely satisfied and then begin thinking about another project.

You’ve Lost the Weight: But How Clean Are You On the Inside-Where It Counts?

June 28th, 2008

In today’s age and world, being slim, shapely, possessing ripped abdominal muscles and toned arms seems to be the aim of a vast majority of the people you see spending tons of hours working out at gyms.

These same people spend loads of money on the new weight-loss pill or supplement guaranteed to ‘make you eat less and increase your metabolism…’ and in spite of whatever side effects the product may contain, the average Joe, still thinks this quick fix will be worth the risk.

In truth, some of these people have luck with these efforts, and yes they possess the ever so ripped and toned muscles we as a society admire so much. However, the fact that needs to be accepted and pondered upon thoroughly is: ‘Whatever is not built on a proper foundation will eventually crumble!’

Most fitness experts and bodybuilders atrophy and wear down prematurely as sooner or later, these muscles ‘blown up’ with unnatural substances have a tendency to pretty much deflate. Moreover, ‘ripped’ muscles and supposed ‘feats’ of strength DO NOT depict proper and optimal health.

There is a saying that is known to every culture which goes:” you are what you eat…” What you eat plays arguably the most important role on your overall health and fitness, thus PROPER DIET should be the most important factor of any and every health seeker. What then should one eat? In a nut-shell: yes as boring as it may sound- Fruits and Vegetables.

These substances possess the abilities to not only provide the necessary fuel needed for day to day activities, but play important and vital roles in:

1. Providing the alkaline reserves in the body for balancing chemical metabolism within.

2. Cleansing the digestive and excretory tract as they act as the much needed intestinal broom to sweep these ‘pipes’ (as you may call them) clean to function properly in their duties of nourishing and cleansing the body.

3. Keeping the body fit, trim and in shape WITHOUT the unwanted side effects of toxic and artificial substances such as pills and supplements.

Sure, it is a great feeling to be able to see the awesome cuts in your ‘abs’ and arms when you look in the mirror, but feeling good on the inside as well and knowing that you are thoroughly cleansed internally should be of just as much importance as ‘getting ripped’.

As I stated in one of my previous articles, a quick and sure-fire method of attaining internal cleanliness and the added bonus of healthy weight-loss will be to undergo a fast.

There are several methods of this tried and true method of healing and although it is covered to a degree in the free resources section of my website, you can always do some research on this radical; yet extremely effective method of internal purification and weight loss.

In conclusion, the cleaner you are on the inside and the freer you are of toxicity the quicker you can and will attain your goal of being in shape.

Winclear :Can Someone See My Internet History

June 26th, 2008

A wide range of malicious trojans, keyloggers, spybots and tracking threats are put at bay with the Spyware Doctor. This is an adware and spyware removal utility that detects and cleans thousands of potential adware, trojans, keyloggers, spyware and other malware that may be infecting and wrecking havoc on your PC. Its remover tool allows you to remove, ignore or either quarantine identified spyware. This tool is made available for free in the trial version. I have known friends complain that their software keeps notifying them when it eliminates spyware and malware (close cousins) so they disabled it.

There are quite a lot of keyloggers currently available on the market. Quality depends and so does the price. Keyloggers are usually very simple to install, setup and use and require no special skills from the user. Most of them cost around $30, though there are more sophisticated species that may cost a little bit more. Keylogger software usually operates in the invisible mode and children don’t know their parents have an eye on them. Data loggers, key loggers are just a few programs which harvest info from your computer. Winclear is the only program created specially to auto remove such spywares. The biggest culprit in this recent rise in cyber crime is spyware the buzzword that is on the lips of every internet user. That is why every computer owner needs winclear.

Protect With Winclear :History Of Internet Cheating
Until you remove the malicious software from your computer, your account is still vulnerable. Your email account has also been compromised so it is important that you change the password for your account after your computer is cleaned. If the malicious software is still on your computer, someone is able to read your emails, delete your emails or send emails from your account. Winclear is the only software which is capable of removing keylogger programs. You can not just delete the most important file that you have so that no one could ever stole it. Winclear has been the industry leader in fighting keyloggers for the last 8 years.

Winclear:
Since about November 2004 there has been a lot of publications of a scheme which at first was seen as a new kind of phishing. That is the reason why you need Winclear installed onto your computer. Hackers may take advantage of the confusion that accompanies holiday online shopping by launching phishing attacks and using stolen credit card information freely in a time when you might be least likely to notice it. Discover a Juicy Dildo for a Nice Orgasm with your Lady

June 26th, 2008

Some blokes have a hard time keeping a tooled up pecker and some chicks have wonderfully long sex drives, meaning it will take her an awfully long time to come. Because of this difference in sex drives, sexual intercourse might well turn into a boring and undesirable sexual session. That’s why thick dildos might well be helpful. If the bloke climaxes early in the love making session, or even if the girl just takes longer than her partner, he can continue to penetrate the girl with the dildo. That way all sexual mischief does not end. It gives the man plenty of time to recharge his stamina and keeps the female aroused. Consequently when the male is set to come back into the sexual session, the girl will still be aroused enough to accept the bloke.

Your very most stimulation zone is your mind. And as significantly as legions of women won’t admit this, the penis is a symbol of fertility, no matter how big or tiny, it is still associated with fertility. Penetrating your mistress with a thick dildo might well make a fantasy of power fun reality.

Some females like the sensation of feeling full in their vagina or back passage. Whenever a sex toy such as a dildo, penetrates the vagina or back passage, the muscles contract around it. Legions of females get the tightening of the above mentioned muscles to be deeply enjoyable. Feels like the real thing but better - Adult and Sex Toys.

Wood Counter Tops—Use To Create An Earthly Look To A Room.

June 25th, 2008

If you are looking for a warm, fuzzy and earthy room, a wood counter top would be a nice counter top suggestion. Wood can be finished or it could be left unfinished. It’s important to recognize that wood can be warped and crack over time. Wood counter tops are also prone to stains, because it has a porous surface.

If you want a low shine wood counter top, the counter top should not have a gloss sealant. You can plan on preserving it with a mineral oil application. You can choose what type of wood you would like, such as oak, maple, cherry, red beech, walnut, teak, and mahogany and more.

Wood is one of the more sanitary products for the kitchen; make sure you have inherent properties within the wood to protect it from bacteria build up. The are many different type of products to achieve that, but be sure to pick a product that is specially designed for wood. Wood counter tops are typically known as butcher block top. This is not a solid block of wood, but rather wood segments that are glued together. How the wood segments are arranged determines the grain of wood.

Cost-cutting Essential to Maintaining Profits

June 24th, 2008

Why cut costs now?

Efforts are multiplying to cut costs wherever possible in order to achieve or preserve high profits. The resulting benefits for all of a company’s employees should be obvious.

It should be obvious, but sometimes it is not. One of the lessons of the Dot-Com debacle is that many of the companies went belly up due to profligate spending by the executives.

Of course, you would like to achieve high profits by having a record-breaking sales year, but that may not be likely to happen this year given all of the uncertainties of the economy and the political situation. Levels of sales success are certainly unpredictable.

The level of sales, however, is only one ingredient in the recipe for success. You must also be interested in keeping your costs as low as you can, because the real number to watch is your profit, the difference between your income and your spending. Remember that this year can be more successful than last year even with lower sales if you can reduce your spending enough.

To increase profits, you can either increase your income, reduce your spending, or both. As your salespeople are aggressively searching for additional customers as well as seeking opportunities for more sales to existing customers, the rest of the employees can work on the other end: reducing costs. If sales are lackluster or even dismal, your cost-reduction efforts can ensure your survival. On the other hand, if sales are great, you can use them to achieve a banner year.

Get everyone involved

Everyone can participate in cost-cutting efforts. Here are a few examples:

Reduced travel - Many meetings formerly held in person are now managed by video-conference or simply by teleconference. Perhaps even senior managers can reduce their in-person meetings from one a month to one per year.

Increased use of e-mail - Communications that once took place in person or by phone are now routinely done by e-mail. Even faxes are beginning to use network connections rather than more costly telephone lines.

Economy of scale - By combining the purchasing power of multiple sites, you can reduce the cost of routine purchases, such as uniforms, computers, and office furniture by obtaining volume discounts from your suppliers. Negotiating new leases for photocopiers and other equipment might save you thousands of dollars per month.

Increased utilization - If you can increase the percentage of time each employee is doing productive work, you can save a lot of money. Encourage employees to use their down time either for gaining additional training or for seeking ways to improve the efficiency of their processes.

Seek suggestions from employees - Ask your people, “How can we accomplish the same thing for less money?” You will be surprised at the creativity they have. At my company, for example, in response to an employee suggestion, water coolers placed at strategic locations throughout the plant have replaced providing individual bottles of water to employees. This has already resulted in a significant savings per week.

Better use of copiers - Employees can save considerable copying expense by using color copiers only for final drafts and increase the incidence of two-sided copying.

How can we cut costs even more?

Everyone in your workplace can get involved in this process by finding opportunities to…

  • Improve your processes so that you can accomplish the same excellent results in less time, with less effort, and for less expense;
  • Eliminate waste;
  • Employ teamwork; and
  • Find ways to add value to what you are doing without adding cost.

Ideas needed

You need each employee and every department to bring forward any suggestion or idea on cutting costs. Create multiple ways of passing along each idea, such as:

  • Present it to your department manager;
  • Share it with any member of your Quality Circle;
  • Write it down and drop it in a suggestion box at your site; and
  • Call it in to a suggestion hotline (voice-mail).

Investments must continue

All of this emphasis on cost-cutting creates the danger of cutting too much. The purpose of all of these measures is to ensure your ongoing profitability.

Some things you should not cut. For instance, you must not cut expenditures your need for facility upkeep or upgrades or to keep pace with technological advances. Neither can you afford to cut back the service you offer to your customers. They must continue to receive the best service you can deliver, combined with the speed and accuracy they have come to expect.

In reality, these are all investments rather than costs. You cannot afford to neglect your investments in facilities, technology, and your people. The long-term costs would be too high.

How To Improve Your Lousy Writing Skills In The Workplace

June 20th, 2008

If there’s one important reason why you need to write effectively in the workplace, it is this: the quality of your writing imprints a lasting impression on the reader. This reader may be your boss, a client, or a person who is ready to make a billion dollar business deal with you.

Have you ever read a poorly-written document that made you lose interest right away? It was so poorly-written that you lost trust in the author and asked yourself why the author was wasting your time? How about those junk e-mails that sneak into your junk box like annoying cockroaches? You know the ones I’m referring to: the ones pitching vitamins, software, and sex aids. These e-mails are the biggest showcase of writing blunders, stricken to death with grammar mistakes, misspellings, and sloppy sentences. I doubt these e-mails pull a sale because their poor writing style immediately alienates the reader.

What impression does your writing leave on your boss, clients, or co-workers? Does your writing alienate readers, cause you to lose sales or clients, or cost you job promotions? Or does your writing build streams of loyal readers, increase sales for the company, and help you earn six figures a year at your job?

Whatever type of writing you do in the workplace, always know this reality: readers believe the quality of your writing reflects your skills, work ethics, and integrity as a person. If you write eloquently, clearly, and lively, the reader trusts you and you are able to build rapport quickly. If your writing is sloppy, disorganized, and riddled with errors, the reader assumes the rest of your work is flawed, your work ethics are flawed, and perhaps as a person you are flawed. Why should this reader waste his time reading the rest of your junk or even do business with you?

This article provides fail-safe strategies to help refine your writing and help you to communicate with clarity, simplicity, and impact so you will never write junk again. You will learn five masterful steps to guide you in planning, writing, and refining an article; and you will learn how to avoid common writing mistakes.

AIM! FIRE! FIRE!

To become a superb writer, your first task is to establish your aim.

Yiddish novelist, dramatist and essayist, Sholem Asch, once said, “Writing comes more easily if you have something to say.”

What message do you want to convey with your writing?

To establish your aim, ask yourself:

1) “Why am I writing this document?”
2) “What do I want to communicate?”
3) “Do I want to inform, educate, report, persuade, challenge, or entertain?”

Developing your aim will help you to adopt the best writing style for your reader. For example, an educational document will likely be more formal than one written for entertaining.

CONNECT WITH YOUR READERS

To write effectively, you need to connect strongly with your readers. Ask yourself:

1) “For whom am I writing this? Will I be writing for colleagues, my supervisor, my team of employees, or our clients?”

2) “How much information do my readers need?”

3) “How familiar are my readers with the topic?”

4) “How much time do my readers have? Would my readers prefer a short, succinct presentation of facts and statistics, or more narration and exposition?”

Knowing your audience will allow you to write content in a way that appeals to your readers.

SHAPE YOUR DOCUMENT

You know your aim. You know the people who will likely read your document. Now plan your document. What information will it contain? What information will most likely grab the reader and hold their interests? What points do you need to get across? Start with a rough outline of ideas. Then go through the outline and add more information and more detail. An outline will create the structure for your document. Soon enough your writing will come more easily, quickly, and with greater clarity.

WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW BEST

At this stage, read over your outline and write the first draft. Establish the main idea of the document and support your argument throughout. If a blank white page glares back at you like headlights, just start writing on whatever topic you know best. According to American novelist Jack London, “You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” Don’t worry about the sequence if the ideas come to you out of order. You can cut and paste later.

WORDY WEIGHT LOSS

If you have time, step away from the document. Come back to it later with a fresh mind. Now add material where needed. Trim away unnecessary sections. Refine the text to communicate what you want to say. Remember: less is more. Try not to repeat ideas. Repetition, unless necessary, is tiresome for the reader. Keep the piece moving along. Use a lively pace. Progress through your points efficiently.

The following sections address some of the most common writing problems. Use these tips to write more clearly, effectively, and lively.

I.) PUNCTUATION

a) Apostrophes

Do not use an apostrophe in the possessive form of “it.”

Incorrect: Our department submitted it’s reports for 2005 last week.
Correct: Our department submitted its reports for 2005 last week.

Do not use apostrophes in the possessive forms “his,” “hers,” and “ours.”

Incorrect: The window office is her’s.
Correct: The window office is hers.

Do not use apostrophes in plural nouns.

Incorrect: How many new computer’s are we getting?
Correct: How many new computers are we getting?

b) Commas

Do not connect two complete sentences with a comma.

Incorrect: The meeting was cancelled, I finished my work early.
Correct: The meeting was cancelled, so I finished my work early.
Correct: Since the meeting was cancelled, I finished my work early.

II.) MECHANICS

a) Split Infinitives

Do not insert words between “to” and the infinitive form of a verb.

Incorrect: I was told we needed to slightly tighten the deadline.

Correct: I was told we needed to tighten the deadline slightly.

III.) SPELLING

a) “A lot” is always two words.

Incorrect: I have alot of work to do.
Correct: I have a lot of work to do.

b) “To” is a function word often used before the infinitive form of a verb (to go).

c) “Too” is an adverb that means “excessively” (too difficult).

d) “Two” denotes the number 2.

Incorrect: This file cabinet is to heavy for me to move.
Correct: This file cabinet is too heavy for me to move.

e) “There” is an adverb indicating a place (over there).

f) “Their” is a possessive word that shows ownership (their computers).

g) “They’re” is the contraction form of “they are.”

Incorrect: There results for this quarter were excellent.
Correct: Their results for this quarter were excellent.

Incorrect: Their working very hard today.
Correct: They’re working very hard today.

IV.) STYLE

a) Sentence Variety

To write more lively, vary sentence structure. Use alternate ways of beginning, and combine short sentences to create different sentence lengths.

Before:

I organized the files for all the new accounts this week. Then I created a more efficient labeling system. I color-coded everything. I made sure all paper files had been documented electronically. I put these files in the empty file cabinet.

After:

This week I organized the files for the new accounts and created a more efficient color-coded labeling system. After I documented all paper files electronically, I put these files in the empty file cabinet.

V.) ACTIVE VOICE vs. PASSSIVE VOICE

The English language has two “voices”: active voice (the subject performs an action); and passive voice (the subject is acted upon). In business communication, all good writers write in active voice. Lazy writers write in passive voice. Writing in active voice shortens your sentences and makes your writing sound more direct and formal.

Examples:

PASSIVE: The recipe book is read by her.
ACTIVE: She reads the recipe book.

PASSIVE: The radio announcement should be listened to by everyone.
ACTIVE: Everyone should listen to the radio announcement.

PASSIVE: The photo is being taken by the photographer.
ACTIVE: The photographer is taking the photo.

How to Put Photos on a DVD in Ten Easy Steps

June 19th, 2008

Putting your photos on a dvd requires two software programs. You will need one for organizing your photos and one for burning them on to a dvd. In this article we will be covering Windows Movie Maker since it is a free program that comes with Windows XP users. You can also get it free through Microsoft if, you don’t already have it installed. Your computer must also have a dvd burner and software for the burning process. Since many new computers come with Nerovision Express 3.0 software we will be using this program in the following steps.

Let’s give it a try shall we…

Step 1. Bring your Windows Movie maker software program up on your computer screen.

Step 2. Look for the task tab, under the capture video category, click on import pictures.

Step 3. Drag and drop your photos in the storyboard arranging them any way you like.

Step 4. Under the edit movie category you can add video effects and transitions. Drag and drop them also in the storyboard. Try all of the them to see which ones you like the best.

Step 5. To add one of your favorite songs change the storyboard view to the timeline view. Under the capture video category, click on import audio or music. Drag your music into the timeline, under your photo scenes, where it says audio/music.

When you see that your video and or videos have been added click on the next button.

Step 8. In the select menu screen click on edit menu. This is where you can choose from a wide range of layouts, background pictures, etc. Play around with the different options you have. When you get the menu just the way you want it click on the next button. (Click on save as template for saving your menu.)

Step 9. Now preview your video by clicking the play button on the remote control. If you are satisfied with the results click next.

Step 10. From the burn options screen, click on burn to located in the parameters for burning box. Locate your dvd drive. Click on the burn button when you are ready. This process takes a while so you have to be patient. Try not to do anything else on the computer while the burning process is in effect.

Note: If you find that the software won’t let you burn, you may need to purchase an additional plugin. If that is the case, you should see a pop up window with instructions on how to get it.
Note:You will not be able to burn without it.

That is really all there is to it! Now wasn’t that easy?
