A Awesome Summer

August 7th, 2009

It?s been an sensational summer up to now. We went on an spectacular mountain bike mountain bike ride through the Sequoia Park. Everything about the adventure was spectacular except for the drive up there. I had my bike on the back of the car and gear all packed up the night before. I started the bike ride up alone as I left early from the office. I was on a race against time as I was supposed to meet my buddies at the top of the mountain road, marked by a picnic table, at eight pm. I knew my window of opportunity was about 30 minutes. If I didnt make it in time, they would come back the next day to find me. This means if I was too late, I would end up sleeping in my car alone that night.

Well I didnt have to sleep in the car alone that night. I made it in time to crack a beer and pedal around on the bike a bit and enjoy the fresh mountain air The fresh air was brilliant and it was nice to be away the city. My Santa Cruz Heckler was in tip top shape and ready to tear up some rails and free riding, fresh out of the shop. The crew arrived to pick me up and show me where our spot was.

Our mountain bike ride started early and we were ready with big packs stuffed with plenty of food and water. The first crank up the big hill was ridiculously long. The crew cranked slowly up for about 2hrs. It was a extraordinary feeling to finally make it to the top. I chugged nice clean water out of my water bottle.

The rest of the day was spent busting tricks, hitting logs and enticing each other to go big. A couple of breaks were in order throughout the day where we drank a bit of booze and shared treats we had packed away. The terrain was spectacular and just right for some summertime riding. There was a bit of ice still left on the ground from the spring melt. The temperature was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.

Scuba Diving Equipment for Safe Scuba Diving

March 23rd, 2009

Enhance your dive experience and keep yourself safe, with quality scuba diving equipment. While choosing the equipments for scuba diving, one must have a good knowledge about the quality of equipments from various available brands. It would be wiser to purchase scuba equipment brands with a known and factual history of performance rather than to try saving money as your own life might depend on it.

Basically the same since Jacques Cousteau introduced the Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus to the world, diving equipment has improved, although diving equipment has remained. In SCUBA diving, O2 enriched gas mixes are often used in order to help flush out nitrogen from the body more rapidly, and divers also encounter raised atmospheric pressure.

Leading makers of scuba diving equipment are continually enhancing products for safety, comfort, and reliability. There are a few things you will need to begin scuba diving including a mask and fins. One of the biggest advances for the recreational diver is the dive computer. Enabling divers to precisely monitor their downtime, trajectory performance, safety, the Dive computer has revolutionized the precision with which diver’s plan their dives.

Care should be taken regarding the quality of equipment, however just as important is the comfort and functionality,as noted above. The size of the tank in scuba diving often varies.

Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Mt Everest and Mont Blanc in France

June 17th, 2008

Bahadur Sherchan last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. This season Anthony Loeff the French mountaineer is reporting the scales for Chomolungma after reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro earlier this year.

Sherchan just 17 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

Therefore, he was all too aware of the potential dangers Mt Everest could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused “the Mount Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

Min Bahadur Sherchan returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Mount Everest. The Chinese were flying their airplanes over Chomolungma or Mount Everest and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. More than 3219 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

Nepalese climber, 77, oldest climber to conquer the top of Mt Everest Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Andrew Brash returned a hero to Calgarians. With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Min Bahadur Sherchan noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. Now that Bahadur Sherchan has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. Bahadur Sherchan and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism.

“The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on Chomolungma. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though Chomolungma or Mount Everest is shared by two countries. His first found him within 210 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. One year later, Andrew Brash, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

The 76-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of the Mount Everest. Nevertheless, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Andrew Brash with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”
